July 4

July 4, 2019

Happy Fourth of July! God Bless America. Waking up in a foreign country on America's National holiday felt a little off for us, but we are excited to host our cook out this afternoon to celebrate some of our favorite holiday's!
The top 10 items collected
globally at the beach

During class today our MMA professor, Dr. Szwed, taught the class on the topic of Ocean Conservation. Sea levels and ocean temperatures are rising because of the excess heat trapped by green house gases. The extent of our Arctic ice is shrinking and by the year 2050 there will be as much plastic as fish in the ocean water. As a society it is important to realize what is happening to our environment, and each person needs to take active steps to help prevent the situation from getting worse.

reduce the amount of pollution

The presentation ended at 1200 and the MMA students had time to prepare for the barbecue at 1500. Everybody enjoyed the barbecue and the food was delicious. We hope you enjoyed and had a safe holiday back in the states.
